Contacting Us

Call us at (912) 206-4024 or stop by 6001 Chatham Center Dr, Savannah, GA 31405. We take calls from the Savannah area itself and from the surrounding communities we work in, including Georgetown and Garden City a few miles out, Montgomery, Isle of Hope, and Thunderbolt, and further out toward Bloomingdale, Skidaway Island, Richmond Hill, Whitemarsh Island, Buckhead, Port Wentworth, and Wilmington Island. We also cover the closer-in pockets like the/Sandfly area, and both Historic Districts.

When you call, tell us the town or neighborhood you're in and roughly how far your house is from downtown. That alone helps us figure out what kind of door and hardware you likely have, since different parts of the service area were built up in different decades. A quote over the phone is a starting estimate, not a locked price. We don't pretend otherwise.

If you'd rather look at what we do before calling, our home page has an overview: /.

What Happens After You Call

  1. The first thing we ask is what the door is doing, or not doing

A spring that snapped, an opener that hums but doesn't lift, a panel that got backed into. That tells us which parts we need to bring. The second thing we ask is the age and rough style of the house. Housing across the Savannah service area mostly went up between 1964 and 2011, with a heavy concentration from the 1980s and 90s. A door and opener from that era usually takes parts we stock. A door older or newer than that range, or one that's been modified, sometimes needs a part we have to order, and we'll tell you that on the phone rather than guess.

  2. We also factor in the climate here

Savannah sits in a mild band with the occasional freeze, which is gentler on hardware than a true cold-winter market but still hard on weatherstripping, cables, and lubrication over time if nobody's touched them in years. What we can't price over the phone: anything involving a bent track, a door that's come off its rollers, or structural damage to the frame or header. Those need a tech standing in front of the door with a tape measure and a level. We'll give you a window for that visit, not a window for the exact repair cost, until we've seen it.

Work We Turn Down

We work on garage doors and openers, springs, cables, tracks, rollers, panels, and the hardware that connects them. We don't do general carpentry, framing repair, or electrical work beyond the opener circuit itself. If your door problem turns out to be a rotted header or a wiring issue in the wall, we'll say so and point you to what trade actually fixes that.

We also don't stretch our service area past what we can reasonably reach and still show up on time. Tybee Island and Midway sit at the outer edge, around 20 miles out, and Rincon isn't much closer. If a job is further than that, we'd rather tell you upfront than take the call and run late.

One more honest limit: if a door is far enough gone that the track is warped, the cables are frayed in multiple spots, and the panels are rusted through, patching it piece by piece usually costs more over a year than replacing it outright. We'll say that plainly instead of running up a repair bill on a door that's done. That's not a sales pitch for a bigger job, it's the math.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Savannah. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

How old does a garage door have to be before repair stops making sense?

It depends on what's failing, but when an opener or hardware set is from the earlier end of the 1964-2011 build range and parts are discontinued, repair costs can creep close to replacement cost. We'll give you both numbers on site so you can decide - we don't push replacement on a door that's still got life in it.

Do you work outside Savannah proper?

Yes. We cover towns from Georgetown and Garden City a few miles out, through Richmond Hill, Port Wentworth, and Wilmington Island around 11-13 miles, and farther runs to Rincon, Midway, and Tybee Island at 19-20 miles. Call and ask - if it's on our list, we'll get a truck there.

Does Savannah's weather cause garage door problems?

Our climate runs mild with only occasional freeze risk, so we don't see the hard freeze-thaw damage that cracks hardware up north. Humidity and plain mechanical wear from decades of use are more common culprits here than weather events.

Can you fix an opener from the 1990s?

Sometimes. A lot of the housing stock here dates to the 1980s and 90s, so we see plenty of older openers. If parts are still available, we repair. If the model's been discontinued, we'll say so and walk you through replacement options instead of chasing a part that doesn't exist anymore.
